Accounting Services Manager

AuldridgeGriffin is a large regional independent public accounting firm. Our offices are conveniently located in west Fort Worth and Cleburne, TX.

Job Responsibilities:

Demonstrate competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional standards and firm policies. Assume full responsibility for supervising engagements and special assignments using established firm policies and procedures while requiring minimum supervision. Coordinate various phases of engagements, plan engagements, set budgets for time and expenses, monitor actual performance against budget, review work papers for accuracy and completeness, and review financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures. Review quarterly payroll tax returns. Review of monthly accounting engagements. Assist with year-end tax planning. Ensure that work papers, financial statements, tax returns, and management letters are prepared in accordance with generally accepted professional standards and firm policies. Assign and direct the work of staff members, offer guidance and direction; give constructive criticism of work papers. Provide supervision and on-the-job training to staff assigned to engagement. Prepare or review financial statements, notes, schedules, management letters, and business (1120, 1120S, and 1065) or individual (1040) tax returns for later discussion between manager or partner and the client. Review with manager or partner significant findings that raise questions involving accounting principles or statement presentation. Communicate engagement's progress, problems, resolutions, financial information, tax issues and other business concerns to the partner and to the client. Review property tax reports. Provide training to client's personnel for various accounting software packages. Research IRS notices and prepare routine correspondence to client for approval and signature of a Partner. Participate in firm's practice development efforts including expanding services to clients.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be a CPA and have current experience working in a public accounting firm or similar environment. Must possess the following: ability to establish workload priorities and perform assigned tasks on engagements or projects in a timely manner; ability to analyze complex accounting issues; ability to operate a computer, calculator and other general office equipment; ability to prepare business and individual income tax returns in an efficient and effective manner with minimal supervision; ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with clients, taxing authorities, partners and peers; ability to maintain a professional presence while at the client's office and keep firm matters confidential. Current knowledge of GAAP, OCBOA including disclosures, QuickBooks, as well as ProSystem Fx Tax Software and Microsoft Office 2007.
